The most inspiring thing I found on my London Fashion Week end is this photo of a man dragging a lamb through the snow. It was framed and hanging in Rosie's living room on top of the fireplace just waiting for me. Perfect for AW09 spirit isn't it?
Tired and weakened by the lonely journey through the menacingly still landscape he emerged from the millions of icy flakes like a vision. His clothes were stained with blood and mud - yet the new patterns they formed on his robes gave an inexplicable depth to his appearance. They dignified him in a way that only the beasts which saw him fight the relentless wind with stubborn resilience and cross the frozen river bed witnessed. The King was back.
Alim Khan, photographed by Prokudin-Gorskii in 1911. Apparently he was the last emir of the Manghit Dynasty. Well, I don't know about that but our good man had a true sense of style and the big chunky belt will definately not get him through security check!
Kathakali is a highly stylised classical Indian dance-drama noted for its attractive make-up of characters, their elaborate costumes, detailed gestures and well-defined body movements. This is what we will show you when you come to the reception in Kerala and we will ask Achchan to give detailed explanations about everything.
That's the kind of setting I am thinking about for the photoshoot AW09. Bare trees, crisp frozen ground, a faint ray of light to give hope to my warrior that the battle is not lost yet.
I am thinking of wearing this FCUK blouse for the London Fashion Week. The other option is my Yves Saint Laurent tiger print long hooded zip cardigan with leggings...pffff. Any advise please! I need to impress Vivienne!
While searching for the perfect wedding dress I must confess that I did consider this one as a serious potential candidate for a long 3 seconds for the simple reason that it will keep me nice and warm in the cold Swiss winter time. I have finally opted for a slightly more revealing one (!) but I still find it quite inspiring in an 'easter' kind of way.
No glitz, sequins or shiny beads this time, a warrior needs to hide and become invisible in dense Northern forests . We are trying to play it low key (I said 'trying') with gentle tassels, modest trims, humble tape and tons of tiny pompons like snowflakes. It should do the trick.
Starting the winter collection - I found these masks in a second hand shop and bargained hard to get them despite the owner's firm decision to get them priced. My business skills are hot! Ladies, get ready for the coolest winter collection yet...
One of the August issues of Weltwoche carried an article on our forthcoming wedding. We're not sure when it is but they announced it's in October anyway. Read on in German if you can manage!
